HERAS aims to:
a) To promote and encourage the science of astronomy and public interest in astronomy especially in the region of Kingston upon Hull and East Yorkshire.
b) To promote a programme of meetings, the majority of which consist of talks and lectures given throughout the year by guest speakers. The last meeting of the season will be the AGM.
c) To publish on the HERAS website details of the Society’s programme of lectures and activities.
d) To support the activities of the British Astronomical Association and the Federation of Astronomical Societies in pursuit of their objectives.
